Day 01 - Colombo / Negombo
On arrival You are met with traditional Sri Lankan hospitality at the airport, and then taken in your own private air-conditioned vehicle by our courteous English -speaking driver to night staying in hotel at Negombo.
Day 02 - Negombo
At the morning proceed to our home and have your breakfast with traditional sri lankan food and drinks and proceed to Dambulla, En route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, Millennium Elephant Foundation and Newly Opened open Zoo which is most largest orphanage in Asia and Zoo. Madam do not forget to give a banana for disabled elephant who lives in this place- after recovered from mine blast during civil war in Sri Lanka. Afterwards you will depart to visit the famous Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, with it’s marvelous Buddhist statues and frescoes dating back to our ancient times, all inside of an amazing cave!. In the late afternoon you will check into your Hotel in Sigiriya. The Melrose or simillar hotel.
Day 03 - Negombo / Sigiriya
Today, after breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya , Then you will make a leisurely climb up the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which is a massive rock rising out of the otherwise flat plains, on top of which is a very ancient fortress/palace/temple, It is called Eight wonder of the world. Accessible only through the paws of a massive lion figure, and decorated with ancient “dancing maidens” all the way up.
1330 hrs afternoon you will proceed to visit the awe-inspiring ancient sites at Polonnaruwa, the most recently discovered ancient city in Sri Lanka, where you can explore well preserved statues and observe the life and surroundings in Sri Lanka’s very ancient times. By the way we reach to a Batik Factory to experience of how the traditional cotton batik paints are made by hand. If you may wish , you can buy colourful batiks . Evening back to the hotel. Overnight stay in same hotel At Sigiriya.
Day 04 - Sigiriya / Kandy
Today, after breakfast, you will do a Kandy City tour and some Shopping in the city, where you get good Gem and Jewelry. Kandy being a major tourist destination is geared to give its visitors a memorable shopping experience. The town centre surrounded by misty mountains and a picturesque lake has a mix of old shops along with more modern trade outlets. Visitors can wander through interesting old antique, curio and knick-knack shops, shop for gemstones, brass items, and traditional handicrafts or even buy an ‘Elephant’ to take back home. In the afternoon the beauty and mystery of Kandy. evening Over night at Hotel in Kandy.
Day 05 - Kandy
Today, after breakfast, you will do a Kandy City tour and some Shopping in the city, where you get good Gem and Jewelry. Day 06 - Nuwara Eliya
Today after breakfast visit Nuwara Eliya via BHAKATHA Hanuman Temple,( On these hills of Ramboda where Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi, the Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka built a temple with Hanuman as the presiding deity)a spectacular drive around the mountains, viewing endless tea plantations and majestic waterfalls (Rambada water fall and Twins waterfall) brings you to Nuwara Eliya, our “little England” where time seems to have stood still since the days of the British occupation through Labukele tea factory.
Day 07 - Nuwara Eliya
Today after breakfast visit Nuwara Eliya City and vegetable beds beauty of the gregory lake area. By the time you can visit the Seetha visiting Seetha Amman Temple -Seetha Eliya. (Approximately 20 Minutes Drive) The stream that runs from the hill, catered to the needs of Sitadevi during her stay at Ashoka Vatika. She is said to have bathed in this stream. Now there is a temple erected for Lord Rama, Sitadevi, Luxshmana and Hanuman by the side of this stream. It is interesting to note that foot prints akin to Lord Hamunams are found by this river -some small and some large.
Further you are privillaged to visit Gayathri Pe(e)dam in Nuwara Eliya-( It is believed to be the place from where King Ravana”s son Meghanath propitiated Lord Shiva with penance and poojas and in turn was granted super natural powers by lord Shiva). and visit to Divurumpola situated in Nuwara Eliya Welimada road. Approximately 1 Hrs Drive) Divurmpola means a place where one takes an oath. Sitadevi, after being liberated from King Ravana was subjected to a test to prove here chastity by offering herself to the fire. However she came unscathed and proved her holiness during this ritual at this place.
Day 08 - Nuwara Eliya / Horton Plains
After breakfast proceed to visit horton plains another place related to Ramayan war) and bakers fall. ( If you want to visit Horton plane it is required to leave the hotel at 0630 am with picnic breakfast, Very beautiful rain forest and largest plane and highest plane as per geography features. It is a large plane and greeny world which is surounding with mist. You can see sambar deers are around you in this plane. while we are moving back to hotel , we visit New Zealand dairy farm, Stawbery farm . Also you may have opportunity to enjoy a boat trip in Gregory lake too. Over night at Hotel in Nuwara eliya.
Day 09 - Nuwara Eliya / Ella
After breakfast you will proceed to Nanu oya railway Station which is pretty closed to Nuwara Eliya, Then you have a emerald chance to travel by sri lankan train by visiting greenly/ misty mountains, very rare waterfalls, vegitable beds and some natural creations along the railway track. All above things cannot see without travel by train. It is my request to take this opportunity, Your vehicle will be at destination of Ella railway station. There after, around 1200 hrs proceed to Thissamaharama after lunch at Ella.
You will proceed to yala via Rawana water fall (Ravana Ella Falls is a breathtaking waterfall, 1080 feet high (cascades into several falls). The stream, a tributary of Kirindi Oyaplunges with a foaming spray over a series of ledges into the valley close to a bend in the road. The waters rise from Wewatenna highland above the rocks. In general the rocky underground of the waterfalls in Sri Lanka consists of hard gneiss or granite, but here the material is khondalite, a kind of limestone which undergoes decay faster. This has resulted in many caves being formed near the falls. King Ravana of Ramayana legend is said to have lived in one of the caves above the waterfalls.
The Ravana Cave tunnels prove beyond doubt the architectural brilliance of King Ravana. These tunnels served as a quick means of transport through the hills and also as a secret passage. These tunnels networked all the important cities, airport and dairy farms. A close look at these tunnels indicates that they are man-made and not natural formations.)and late afternoon reach to Tissamaharama area for night staying.
Day 10 - Katharagama
After breakfast, visit the Kataragama shrine, dedicated to God Skanda (Murugan) the God of Love and War. It is believed that this Devala was started in the 2nd Century B.C. by King Dutugemunu (167 –137 B.C.). Today Kataragama is a place of worship for Buddhists, Hindus and some Muslims.
This is a very popular place of pilgrimage for south Indian Hindus as it is said that God Kataragama came from India, married a Jungle Girl from Sri Lanka and lived here. When his Indian wife came in search of him he refused to go back. The legend has it that all of them lived here happily thereafter. There are separate shrines for the two wives, Tevani Amman Kovil for the Indian wife and Valli Amman Kovil for the Sri Lankan wife.
During the month of July a 10-day festival is held here with the Perahera (procession), Fire walking, hanging on hooks and other acts of penance being performed by the devotees . Night stay same hotel at Thissamaharama.
Day 11 - Galle
After breakfast, Yet another scenic drive along the sea side, on the way stop at Ussanggoda. (Approximately 2 Hrs Drive) According to Ramayana, after meeting Sitadevi, Lord Hunuman decided to test the strength of the mighty King Ravana and his army of Rakshasas. During the events that unfolded Lord Hanuman’s tail was set on fire by the Rakshasa’s, and Lord Hanuman in turn went on to torch some parts of King Ravana’s empire.Ussanggoda is on the torched areas, which is said to have been an airport used by King Ravana.) and Mirissa visit Dondra Light house and proceed to Galle or Unawatuna area for Night staying.
Day 12 - Galle
After breakfast visit to Galle Fort, Dutch museum and Dutch cemetery and then to visit Rumasela. (At various times during the war, both Lords Rama and Lakshmana were hit by powerful arrows, and had fallen unconscious. At these times, Lord Hanuman had been instructed to fetch the life saving herbs from the jungles of Himalaya to bring them back to life. Mighty Hanuman had gone to the Himalayan hills and lifted the whole hill and brought it back, as he was unable to identify the life saving herbs by himself. Parts of the hill is said to0 have fallen in five places in Sri Lanka, namely, Rumasala in Galle, Dolukanda near Heripitiya, Ritigala near Habarana , Thalladi in Mannar and Kachchativu in the north). and Ambalagoda, visit Art & Craft centres art and where ambalangoda is very popular place where they manufacture masks of any type then visit kosgoda turtle Hatchery is the prime turtle nesting site which was open by the Wild life Protection Society in 1981.Visitors can see huge tanks filled with new born turtle hatchlings. After being fed, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2-4 days old, usually during the safer hours of darkness then brings you to the beautiful Bentota, Calm waters you can enjoy everything from. Boat trips up to the MADU river and Foot therapy with fish , The other end You have rest day to enjoy the beach and enjoy the pleasent weather. it is calm and clean beach to enjoy keep walking along the beach. night stay at hotel in Galle.
Day 13 - Galle / Colombo
After breakfast you will depart to Colombo city . You can visit, Gangaramaya temple, And around the city you can do the shopping. There also Some recommended place to do shopping in Colombo for Ladies garments, Leather productions Gem and moonstone, cashew, Ect,…Also there are all type of restaurants to enjoy traditional or any other region menu. Experience night life in Colombo. Night stay at hotel in Colombo.
Day 14 - Colombo
After breakfast you can have a long shopping day by hanging around all ladies fashion production shops like ODEL, NOLIMIT,Lakmadura Ect. At the afternoon proceed to negombo beach, Relax on the beach with the sun set and in the evening go for restaurant and dining out in Negombo city. Night at Negombo Beach.
Day 15 - Colombo /Airport
Leave Colombo on time to the airport for your flight.
